Jersey Girl

It is a blessing and a curse to be born and raised in a somewhat safe place like New Jersey yet live so close to one of the greatest cities in the world, NYC.

I love that I am able to get away from the city’s false sense of reality and come home to a quiet neighborhood where I can just breathe easy. I do not have to rush to do or be or have anything expect what I have already been blessed with.

Even though living in New Jersey is one of my favorite things about my life….it has been a curse to many people I know. Because New Jersey is so comfortable, many of the kids in my town never think about venturing over the bridge or hoping on the train to discover how NYC can change their lives. They live in a pseudo paradise paralyzed with fear about what would happen if they actually did try to live out their dreams. Maybe they are scared to make it or maybe they are scared to fail.

It is what it is.
