Yesterday was a perfect random LA day. The weather was perfect (duh). I just finished cleaning the shit out my apartment and I get a text from my blonde hair Ethiopian songstress friend Bethel. Check out her soundcloud here https://soundcloud.com/bsolomonsangs.
We took a Uber to Venice and got some wine and Lay’s chips which are standard beach needs. I’ve been to Venice a few times but never to the side we were on. There were beautiful rocks and it was much more peaceful and nobody bothered us as we drank and laughed while playing “Never Have I Ever”. Being able to go these beautiful beaches anytime you want is such a blessing. Back home in NJ it always felt like we had to plan a whole day for going to The Shore. But here in Cali you can go anytime and be with just you and God and your thoughts, it’s so lovely. The way the sun makes the water glitter and how the ocean water is surprisingly warm. We posed on some rocks let the sun turn our brown skin deeper then headed to Lula’s Mexican Restaurant.
We chatted about what we are most grateful for in life and discussed the origin of certain human beings over chips, salsa, guac and confidence. We had these really delicious pineapple infused tequila drinks which weren’t too sweet or too strong.
We finished the night by going back to Bethel’s place watching old 90’s videos and making a liquor store run. All while documenting our every move via Snapchat.
I departed and got home at around 11pm. I left the house at 2pm. 9 hours of being in pure bliss and knowledge and in the company of fellow east coasters here in LA to create a huge shift in their lives.
I also discovered some new music. Hiatus Kaiyote listen to the magic below
